On February 2nd, Nature Neuroscience published online our article entitled “Bump attractor dynamics in prefrontal cortex explains behavioral precision in spatial working memory” (vol. 17, no.3, p. 431, March 2014). In this paper, we investigate the neural basis of temporal decay in working memory precision, based on a computational hypothesis. “Bump attractor” dynamics explained the relationship between the accuracy of behavioral responses and neuronal activity in the prefrontal cortex of monkeys performing a spatial working memory task.
